The governors and staff of our school welcome your interest and hope you will find this prospectus informative and helpful. It contains information about daily school life, the curriculum and the many experiences children at Brooke Hill Academy enjoy. Visits are encouraged and provide an opportunity to meet the children and o talk to staff. Our website also provides up to date news and gives a real insight to our exciting school.
At Brooke Hill Academy we provide an all-round education, offering opportunities for children to develop academic, social, sporting and creative skills in a caring and supportive environment. We inspire all children to reach their full potential.
Our school has an idyllic setting, on the edge of the picturesque market town of Oakham, in the heart of England. Located next to a woodland, we are proud of our Forest School status and commitment to outdoor learning. We use the local environment, including Rutland Water, as much as possible to enrich teaching and learning throughout the school.
Our building is well maintained and we recently benefitted from a light, spacious extension, allowing us to increase our numbers. Our modern, free flow environment is well equipped and supports all learning styles. We also have a separate, purpose built Nursery on site. Our playgrounds are all well equipped for all age groups and we have a trim trail, quiet garden area and an astroturf pitch for outdoor sports as well as an allotment area and a gate through to the Woodland Trust.
In September 2013 we embarked on a federation with Edith Weston Academy and we formed the Brooke Hill Academy Trust Multi Academy Trust in January 2016. This successful collaboration benefits both schools as we are able to offer a richer curriculum and more opportunities for pupils including shared resources, a comprehensive gifted and talented programme, a broad extra- curricular activity timetable and staff expertise. There is an indoor swimming pool at Edith Weston and we use this each week.
We are immensely proud of our academic standards as well as our great commitment to the Arts and we enjoy extensive participation and success in sport too. We gained ICT Mark and Green Flag Eco status for the second time this year.
Our School Vision and Values were developed by the whole school community and represent the beliefs we hold.
We look forward to welcoming you to our school.
Mrs Sharon Milner
