A special message from author Jess Butterworth!

Nairobi class really enjoyed reading our class book "Swimming Against the Storm" last term. Jess Butterworth, the author, has sent us a message and it has some top tips for anyone who wants to write their own book!

Hello! Just wanted to say a huge well done at the end of another week of home learning. I know it's been tricky to stay motivated but the work you've been sending in is fantastic and we're so impressed with what you're doing. Here are some pictures of the super work you've been producing. Next week is the last week before the holiday so lets make it a super one!

Here is a photo of Rhys with his poppy field drawing, and the poppy he made out of fabric. He’s had a good week of learning about WW2, most importantly about his Great Grandpa who died 8 days before Rhys was born. Most poignantly Rhys was born on what would have been his 90th birthday! My father has helped him with his work this week, over FaceTime. They have both loved the experience.

Just a little note to let you know from next we will be setting maths tasks personalised to each maths class to allow for challenge for all abilities.

Many thanks

Just a few of the fantastic Viking Longboats you've been building this week! I wish I could include all the fantastic models, drawings, factfiles and rousing speeches you have sent! Keep up the good work- next week is all about the Norse (Viking) gods and goddesses (a really good excuse to watch the Marvel films over the weekend!). I'm really looking forward to what you send in next :)

Hello Everyone! I hope you had a lovely Easter weekend and that the Easter Bunny left you some yummy treats! Over the past three weeks that we haven't been at school I've kept myself busy. I've been gardening, going for walks with my daughter (many of them up to the woodland), shopping for my parents who are over 70 years and who are self-isolating, practising my flute (I hope that those of you who have music lessons have been practising hard as well), playing board games with my family, reading lots of books, making birthday cards for family and friends and sewing. Even though I have filled my time, I have missed the routine of school and seeing all of you and the other staff. I hope that you've all been working hard and been helpful to those that are looking after you. Let's hope that we'll all be back together very soon because I can't wait to catch up with all your news! Stay safe, Mrs Steele xxx

This is just a bit of a silly way to say Happy Easter to everyone! I hope you're all safe and happy! From Miss Ellerington and Mrs Bradford

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying their home learning so far!

It is so lovely to see all of your impressive creations whether it’s writing, maths work, artwork or development of a new skill. I’ve seen some amazing videos too of biking, football skills, explanation of inventions, poems and baking which is incredible. I’m so glad you are managed to stay busy and progress your talents in this time.

I’ve been managing to do the same.. although we have lots of work to do in order to be able to jump right back into school when the time comes, I’ve managed to do some painting, wallpapering and learn some new songs on the piano.

Please keep in contact and keep sending all of your incredible work; it brightens my day to see your faces, even from a distance!

Stay safe,

Miss Lattimore
